Multiple Sclerosis Association South Shore (ASPRS), St. Hubert
The Multiple Sclerosis Association South Shore (ASPRS) is a nonprofit organization that is primarily intended to accompany people with MS and help families in learning to “live with” the disease.
They are a team of ten employees and two hundred volunteers working to facilitate the social integration of their members. As the disease deprives mostly of their mobility, they are sometimes home alone and without friends. ASPRS organizes community dinners every Wednesday, cafes meetings, body awareness activities, movies, writing, scrapbooking, coloring mandalas, pilates classes and painting. They also offer massage therapy and lectures on various topics.
“The act of painting our offices with brighter colors and less dull ones would help our members begin to see all the colours of life! They have visited enough hospitals, clinics and professional offices that are painted in colors depressing.” – Stéphanie Hamel (Communications Clerk at ASPRS).
Patrick Lessard and his Betonel/Dulux team in St. Hubert will be helping to beautify this space on October 28, 2011.
